Stephanie’s Breast Reduction and S.A.F.E. Lipo

September 21, 2017

Dr. Lee told me that after my surgery I would wonder why I didn’t do it sooner, and he was right. I’m so glad we met when we did.

Sometimes something you have been thinking about forever is put into motion in a chance meeting. That is what happened to Stephanie when she was introduced to Dr. Michael Lee at a neighborhood gathering. “I wanted a breast reduction forever, but I’ve never had cosmetic surgery so I was a bit scared.” After some small talk and getting to know Dr. Lee, Stephanie went home and studied his website. “From the very beginning, I liked his demeanor and what he said about his practice. His before and after gallery convinced me to schedule a consultation. I took meeting him as a sign that it was time to take some action.”

At the consultation, Stephanie was interested not only in breast enhancement, but in what could be done about her waist. “I’m 49 and a year and a half ago I started menopause and gained 25lbs. in what seemed like overnight–all in my middle.”

Stephanie worked out regularly and considered herself “active,” but she went from a size 6-8 to a size 12. “No matter what I did, I couldn’t lose it. It was discouraging.” Dr. Lee examined her and recommended a breast reduction with lift and SAFELipo® around her trunk to redefine her torso. “He totally put me at ease. It seemed like he read my mind because he knew exactly what I wanted before I even told him. The staff was ultra-professional and made everything so easy. I made up my mind right then and there.”

Stephanie scheduled her surgery for May of 2017. “I was nervous, but Dr. Lee gave me a lot of confidence. I trusted him. My boyfriend was also a huge support.” Although she felt well prepared, recovering from two surgeries took time. “The breasts were the easiest part, especially once the drains were removed. Medication helped me through the liposuction recovery, but admittedly I am a big baby. Megan and Casey were fabulous and available whenever I needed anything. It was important to follow all the post-op instructions for healing. It was about 6 weeks until I really felt like myself.”

At 14 weeks post-op Stephanie admits that while she expected her body to change, she had no idea what an impact it would make on her lifestyle. “No more big boobs. I can boat and bike and run…no restrictions. And my closet…why did I give away all those size 6 outfits?” The workouts Stephanie had stopped because they “weren’t working” have now been resumed. “I feel fantastic inside and out.”

For those considering similar procedures, Stephanie has some advice. “Don’t talk yourself out of it, but don’t talk yourself into doing it with just any surgeon. I would only refer to Dr. Lee. He’s an artist. He told me after surgery I would wonder why I didn’t do it sooner, and he was right. I’m so glad we met when we did.”
