Dr. Michael Lee is a member of an elite class of surgeons double board certified by both the American Board of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery, and the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Translation: Dr. Lee is well versed in complex anatomy and refined aesthetics—both essential in facial rejuvenation and rhinoplasty (nose surgery) where balance, harmony and function are paramount.

Dr. Lee’s sophisticated surgical judgment and meticulous technique have earned him a reputation for superior outcomes in facial surgery. His High SMAS, deep plane facelift allows repositioning of the natural cheek to its original position delivering a soft, rejuvenated, “un-operated” look. Dr. Lee elevates just enough skin to access the deeper tissues of the face responsible for sagging cheeks and jowls. “What is enough and what is too much is a matter of millimeters,” says Dr. Lee. “That is the art behind the science. The excess skin is removed but the tension is placed deeper to avoid an unnatural appearance.” What does success look like to Dr. Lee? “That a few months post-op, friends and family will say, “Wow. You look great,” not “What work have you had done?” His busy solo practice located in the heart of the Park Cities offers a relaxed, elegant environment.

One would assume the years of intense education and training might be accompanied by a contrived, measured bedside manner. In fact, it is the opposite. Patients describe Dr. Lee as “warm”, “compassionate”, “approachable”, “calm.” His philosophy is that all patients expect and deserve the highest quality of care and attention. His devotion to his patients is evident in that he makes himself easily accessible, before and after surgery. “Every detail of patient care is important to me,” emphasizes Dr. Lee. “I see plastic surgery as my calling. I want every patient to be a masterpiece.”

As assistant professor at the University of Texas Southwestern, the nation’s top plastic surgery program, he performs and teaches residents and fellows plastic surgery of the face, nose, and breast. Dr. Lee also serves on the Editorial Board for the Aesthetic Surgery Journal keeping up with the latest techniques in plastic surgery. He lectures both nationally and internationally at society meetings and has published numerous peer reviewed scientific articles on facial and nasal surgery. For Dr. Lee, honesty and integrity are the cornerstones of his practice. “Navigating through all the trendy “innovations” and marketing hype is difficult for prospective patients. I separate what really works from what could potentially be harmful or inadequate. Only procedures and techniques that are proven are performed here.”
