This 68 year old patient wanted improvement in her jowls and neck muscle bands. The facelift not only provided a more aesthetically pleasing jaw line but improvement in her nasolabial folds (the fold that extends from the nose down). Her neck was treated with suturing the bands together and creating a much smoother and youthful contour. At 2 years follow-up she is still delighted with her results.
This 43 year old patient did not need nor desire huge changes in her appearance. She simply wanted a more refreshed look. Facial rejuvenation, whether surgical or non-surgical should be individualized to the patient. An endoscopic browlift was performed along with a lower facelift. Notice in the result photographs how her face is more open and the eyes are showcased. This provides a more youthful and rested look. The changes made along the jaw line include more definition and improvement in the jowls. The final result is an overall enhancement that allowed this patient to look as youthful on the outside as she feels on the inside.
Patients in their 40’s and up may be candidates for surgical facial rejuvenation. This patient has ideal aesthetic proportions but the aging process has influenced areas around her eyes and face. Her brow position is good and a browlift is not needed. She underwent upper and lower eyelid surgery to remove the excess skin. A facelift was performed to lift and tighten her deep facial tissue and remove excess skin. Her jowls were corrected and her jaw line is much improved. Her neck was treated to repair the bands and improve her side profile. Also noticeable are the improvement in facial volume and balance which was achieved with fat grafting to her cheeks. The overall result is a more rested and rejuvenated look.
This patient underwent full facial rejuvenation with an endoscopic lateral brow lift, lower lid blepharoplasty, and a High SMAS face/neck lift. She also underwent SMAS grafting to her nasolabial folds. This can minimize the need for future fillers. Notice the resolution of shadowing around her lower eyelid and fullness in her cheek area. These are accomplished with the High SMAS facelift and orbicularis muscle suspension. Furthermore, she has resolution of jowls with a much more aesthetic neck and jaw line. The best time to pursue facial surgery is when the signs of aging are just beginning to show.
The High SMAS facelift allows for maximal repositioning of tissue that gravity has influenced over time. The operation begins with repairing the bands in the neck. These bands occur from a weakening of the tissue that supports the platysma muscle. Once repaired, the muscle is repositioned and secured thereby providing a much more aesthetic neck and jaw line. The oblique view in this case highlights these changes as well as that of the midface and eyes.
