It is important to understand your financial obligations when considering cosmetic or reconstructive surgery. At Dr. Lee’s office you will be made aware of all the costs associated with your surgery so there are no surprises. Our patient coordinator, Megan will work with you to answer questions about our fees and explore the payment options available, so you are always informed.
Dr. Lee spends a considerable amount of time with every patient. Consultations are comprehensive and unhurried and conducted by Dr. Lee. Our consultation fee is $50. At the time you call to schedule your consultation we ask that you provide a valid credit card. If you do not have a credit card, you may send a check as prepayment of your consultation to secure your appointment. Because we are holding that time for you, we ask that you notify us in advance if your plans change so we can reschedule. We will have to charge the full fee if you do not call 24 hours in advance to cancel your appointment.
Should you decide to schedule surgery with Dr. Lee there is a $500 nonrefundable scheduling fee to hold your surgery date. This fee will be applied to your total cost of surgery. If you find it necessary to change your surgery date, we are happy to accommodate you provided you give us two weeks’ notice. A $250 change fee will be charged to cancel and reschedule your procedure. Payment for cosmetic surgery is due two weeks prior to your surgery date.
You will be asked to write separate checks to the hospital or surgery facility and the anesthesia group unless you are financing and we have arranged to provide those checks for you. Please refer to your surgical fee quotation for the exact amounts.
We accept the following forms of payment:
Financing is available for either a portion of, or the total sum of your procedure. Our partner, CareCredit provides several affordable plans so you don’t have to put your dreams on hold. Megan can help guide you through the quick and easy approval process. Many of our patients apply on line in the privacy of their homes even prior to their initial consultation. Please visit www.carecredit.com. CareCredit provides excellent and confidential service.
We accept most insurance carriers that are prominent in our geographic area for reconstructive procedures. Aesthetic procedures are generally not covered by insurance. We will be happy to discuss any exceptions at the time of your consultation. Should your procedure indicate a valid insurance claim, we will help with any pre-certification necessary. Full payment for services is your responsibility and any reimbursement is between you and your carrier. We will do everything we can to assist you in collecting any benefit allowed by your policy.
Dr. Lee provides for his patient’s comfort and S.A.F.E®ty by doing his procedures at highly accredited facilities including:
Dr. Lee’s fee, initial surgical garments, and post-operative visits.
Anesthesia and operating room charges, as these will be paid directly to the providers. If financing is used, these charges will be satisfied through the finance company.
Lab tests, EKG, X-rays required for pre op clearance. These are sometimes covered by your insurance.
Prescriptions and second stage garments.
Anesthesia and operating room charges should you desire revisional procedures.
In rare cases a situation may arise that could force you to cancel or postpone your surgery. Any changes to a set surgery schedule impacts not only you, but the surgeon, his staff, the facility, the anesthesiologist and other patients.
If you cancel two weeks or more prior to your scheduled date, you will be able to reschedule without losing your deposit. A $250 administrative change fee will be charged.
If you cancel with less than two weeks’ notice, you will forfeit your surgical deposit. We are happy to arrange another date; however a new deposit fee will be assessed.
Dr. Lee has built a strong reputation for his skill and judgment and is confident in his ability to deliver exceptional outcomes. However, no one can guarantee a perfect result, particularly in the subjective realm of aesthetic surgery. Occasionally patients will experience a complication or request a revision.
If it becomes necessary to return a patient to surgery, either on an emergency basis or one that is elective, there will be a fee for surgical revisions to cover treatment delivered by the surgeon, the facility and the anesthesiologist. Depending upon your individual insurance policy, these revision or complications may be covered.
We take all the necessary precautions to guard against complications or revisions, but when they present themselves, it is important for all patients to understand this financial policy.
If at any time you have a question about your financial obligations or our policies with regard to payment and deposits, please call Megan Thoma at 469-730-2831.
